What this is

MCdle is a small, independent fan project: one Minecraft block to guess per day, the same block for everyone, as many guesses as you need. There is no company behind it and nothing to sign up for.

Where the data comes from

Every number you see — hardness, blast resistance, the tool a block needs, the version it was added in — is read straight out of Minecraft's own data files, pinned to a single game version so the values stay consistent from day to day.

The block pool was then narrowed by hand. Nearly four hundred blocks were reviewed one by one for a single question: would a normal player look at this and know what it is? Blocks that are technically in the game but that nobody would recognise were left out.

Not official, not affiliated

MCdle is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

MCdle is also not affiliated with The New York Times or any of its games.

Block textures and names belong to Mojang. They are used here in the spirit of Minecraft's fan content guidelines. If a rights holder would like something removed, get in touch and it will be taken down.
