What is MCdle?
MCdle is a free daily Minecraft guessing game. Every day one Minecraft block is chosen, the same block for everyone in the world, and you keep guessing until you get it. Each guess is scored against six properties of the block, and the colours tell you how close you are.
It plays like Wordle, but instead of letters you are reasoning about the game you already know: how hard a block is to mine, which tool it needs, whether it survives an explosion, and how far back in Minecraft's history it goes. A new block goes live at 00:00 UTC.
Why play a daily Minecraft Wordle?
- Free, forever. No account, no download, no paywall.
- One puzzle a day. Two minutes, then you are done — and everyone gets the same block.
- Built from real game data. Hardness, blast resistance and tools come straight from the game files, not from memory.
- Works on a phone. The board fits a phone screen and the block names are the ones you see in your own language in game.
- Keep a streak. Solve it each day and your streak grows; miss a day and it resets.
How to play
- Type any Minecraft block name and pick it from the list.
- Every property is scored: green means an exact match, amber means you are close, red means no.
- Numbers also get an arrow: ▲ means the answer is higher than your guess, ▼ means lower.
- There is no limit on guesses — keep going until you get it. Hints appear if you are still stuck after a while.
- The first row is a free hint — a real comparison against today's block, not an example.
What the six columns mean
- Version
- The Minecraft version the block first appeared in, grouped by major release. Anything older than 1.8 is shown as Pre-1.8.
- Tool
- The tool you need to harvest it — pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, shears or bare hands.
- Hardness
- How long the block takes to break. Bedrock and the end portal frame are unbreakable, shown as ∞.
- Blast
- Blast resistance: how well it stands up to an explosion. Obsidian is 1.2k; dirt is 0.5.
- See-thru
- Whether light passes through it. Glass and leaves do; stone does not.
- Craftable
- Whether the block has a crafting recipe, or can only be found in the world.
Today's block and past answers
Today is day #2. Once a day is over its block is published in the answer archive, together with the full property row, so you can look back at what the answer was and why the colours came out the way they did.
Today's answer is never listed in the archive while the day is still running — 00:00 UTC is the middle of the afternoon somewhere, and nobody should have the day spoiled by a page they landed on from a search.

- Is there a new block every day?
- Yes. A new block goes live at 00:00 UTC and it is the same block for every player, so results are comparable.
- Is MCdle free?
- Yes, and there is nothing to sign up for. Your streak is kept in your own browser.
- How many guesses do I get?
- As many as you need — there is no limit. Repeating a block you already guessed is not possible, so no guess is wasted by accident.
- Where can I find yesterday's answer?
- In the archive. Every day that has finished is listed there with its block and property row.
- Can I play on my phone?
- Yes. The board is built for a phone screen first; the property table scrolls sideways while the page itself does not.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- From Minecraft's own data files, pinned to a single game version, so hardness and blast resistance are the real values rather than someone's recollection.
- Is this an official Minecraft game?
- No. MCdle is an unofficial fan project, not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
- Is this the same as the New York Times games?
